서울대학교 행정대학원(Graduate School of Public Administration)은 1959년 설립되어 행정학과 정책학 분야 국내 최고 수준의 교육 제공과 함께 정보지식정책연구소와 아시아개발연구소 등 연구센터 사업을 통해 산출된 학술연구 성과를 공공 정책과정에 반영하는 역할을 수행하고 있습니다. 특히 정보지식정책연구소 산하 서베이연구센터는 국민의 바람과 증거에 기반한 국정운영에 필요한 정보를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 설립되어 정책 마련을 위한 경험자료를 생산하고 있습니다. 이와 같은 목적에 따라 동 연구센터는 2010년부터 매년 전국단위 조사인 '정부역할과 삶의 질에 대한 국민인식조사'를 실시하고 있습니다.
