The Science and Technology Policy Institute, a national research institute, was founded in 1987 with the purpose of contributing to the establishment of national science and technology policies and the development of science and technology. It works through doing research on various issues related to economic/social aspect of science and technology activities and its sectors. Its main activities include Investigation and research on science and technology, R & D activities and technological innovation, research on the development of science and technology policy alternatives and establishment of technology management strategies, interdisciplinary research on the interaction between science and technology and economy/society, regional cooperation and international cooperation in science and technology, research on global trend in science and technology policy.
