Abstract

The survey was conducted by the Center for Social Sciences of Seoul National University in cooperation with the Institute of Management and Economics, an affiliate of the Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology (now the POSCO Research Institute), to gather basic data for the「Study on the Systematization of POSCO’s Corporate Philosophy」an interim report of the「Comprehensive Plan for the Promotion of POSCO’s Corporate Culture」. This survey conducted among the employees of POSCO aims to establish a future-oriented corporate philosophy and culture of POSCO.
The questionnaire of this survey includes questions on value system and social consciousness, POSCO’s elements for success, current capabilities and challenges, prospects for the future, images associated with POSCO, community contributions, business diversification, employee attitude, relationships with colleagues and supervisor, cross-departmental cooperation, departmental autonomy, fairness in human resource management, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, channel for processing grievances, reward system, relations with trade unions, the introduction of automation technology, human resources development, and the welfare system.
