Abstract

This integrated data set contains data from two different sources; one is data from Social Quality Survey of 5 countries including Korea, Germany, Italy, Greece, and Turkey, which were collected by ISDPR in 2012 and the other is data from Social Quality Survey of Vietnam (2013) and Taiwan (2014), which surveyed by a SSK team. The aim of combining these data sets is to help to use archived data sets more easily and to facilitate cross-national comparative studies.
The questionnaire of two different sources data is identical. It was designed to measure 4 constitutional factors of social quality, which are socioeconomic security, social cohesion, social inclusion, and social empowerment. While significant number of questions were taken from 2009 social quality survey, some of questions were modified and questions covering political participation, opinions on welfare policies, and human rights were newly added in the questionnaire.
The final respondents of the survey totaled 7,432, with 1,000 Koreans, 1,200 Germans, 1,001 Italians, 1,013 Greeks, 1,018 Turkey, 1,000 Vietnamese and 1,200 Taiwanese. In the case of Germany, oversampling was done in comparison with other countries for distribution and comparison between East and West Germany.
This survey structure of the questionnaire can be divided into 10 sections.
