The Institute of Social Survey at Hallym University established in 1989 aims to conducting extensive data collection and rigorous empirical research on key issues in Korean society, including labor and class, politics and civil society, culture and everyday life. In particular, it carries out research on Gangwon area related to community development in the decentralized age as an important task. The representative studies include the Chuncheon Report, a Series report and related empirical data, which were generated four times from 1991 to 2008, and are considered to be the leading researches in community studies.
