The Institute of Social Survey at Hallym University established in 1989 aims to conducting extensive data collection and rigorous empirical research on key issues in Korean society, including labor and class, politics and civil society, culture and everyday life. In particular, it carries out research on Gangwon area related to community development in the decentralized age as an important task. The representative studies include the Chuncheon Report, a Series report and related empirical data, which were generated four times from 1991 to 2008, and are considered to be the leading researches in community studies.

Search Tips
- KOSSDA's data search consists of General Keyword search, Detailed Keyword search by index field, and Discover, a browser feature.

General Keyword search
- The search terms you enter are searched in stemmed order and then searched in the order of the most relevance.
- Spaces are applied by the OR operator.
- If you put a search term in double quotation marks (" "), you'll get an exact match. This is useful when you know the exact data name, series name, institution name, etc., or when you search for phrases of two or more words.
- Searching with an asterisk (*) before or after a search term results in a backward or forward match. This does not apply to multiple search terms.

Detailed Keyword search by index field
- It searches for data matching the search term (keyword or phrase) for the selected index field. However, double quotation marks ("") and asterisks (*) do not apply.
- If you add a refined keyword search, the AND operator is applied to narrow your results.
