Abstract

Social movements in Korea have contributed to the realization of Korea’s democratization, but research on social movements and activists remain rudimentary and peripheral. Thus the「Survey Research on the Social Movement Organizations and Activists and the Formation of Civil Society in Korea」was conducted to collect quantitative and qualitative data on Korean social movement organizations and activists. The「Survey on the Korean Social Movement after the 1960s」was conducted for the collection of quantitative data.
This survey was conducted separately among social movement organizations and activists and this data is on organizations. The questionnaire includes contents on the formation/termination/period of existence of organization, mutual relations among organizations, ideology and direction, genealogy, matrix organization, members/size/ and changes, financial management, organizational operation and management methods, relations to institutional domains, and the degree of publicity of organization.
