Abstract

The 「Survey on Values and Attitudes in Transitional Korea」is a survey of the people’s attitudes that aims to understand and record Korea’s fast changing society. The first purpose of this study is to examine the people’s changing attitudes towards various social sectors and the second is to provide basic data for social policy making to improve the quality of life. The survey was designed to grasp the current state of people’s attitudes and to allow a comparison with the past and gauge prospects for the future. The survey is composed of the evaluation and prospects for politics, economy, and social realities, evaluation and prospects for political and economic change within the world system, attitudes towards nation, and prospects and opinions on the issue of reunification.
