Since its establishment in 1989, the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute is a representative industrial accident prevention research institute that conducts research on accident prevention and occupational disease prevention at industrial sites. It conducts scientific research to protect the safety and health of workers and its concerns from safety and health policies and systems, accident prevention, improving the working environment, worker's health, and the toxicity and risk of chemicals. Along with those, it conducts professional works such as accident investigation, epidemiological survey on work-related disease, quality control over medical examination service providers and asbestos investigation organizations, assessment of potential risk of hazardous chemicals, Korean Working Conditions Survey(KWCS), Occupational Safety and Health Company Survey(OSHCS) and statistical survey on occupational accidents.
