Survey on the Stress Experienced by Counselors, 2007

This survey was conducted to collect data on the job related stress experienced by professional counselors working in child protection agencies. Counselors working with children who are victims of emotional trauma may experience psychological exhaustion and pain in the process of interacting with these children. This data was collected to study the identification of the channels and elements inducing secondary stress experienced by professional counselors.
The main contents of the survey include hours of work, number of counseling sessions, types of abuse victims difficult to handle, experience of death of child victim, experience of assault and personal threats by assailant, level of secondary stress, degree of emotional exhaustion, level of support by family/friends/colleagues, job satisfaction, and workplace satisfaction.
