Abstract
This survey was conducted by the Gwangju Development Institute to collect basic data for the establishment of Gwangju’s policy on culture and the arts for youth. The cultural and artistic activities experienced as youth are very important in promoting the cultural sensibility of adolescents. Thus, it is important to develop various policies and programs for youth to realize the value of culture and arts in everyday life and the cultivation of the ability to enjoy culture and the arts. This survey collected data on the overall activities of youth including culture and leisure activities to be utilized widely in the development of policies on youth by the city of Gwangju.
The main contents of the survey include level of participation in youth activities, reason for participating or abstaining from youth activities, channel of obtaining information related to youth activities, main leisure activity, partner in leisure activities, leisure time, level of satisfaction in leisure activity, reason for cultural and artistic activities and obstacles, channel of obtaining information regarding cultural and artistic activities, companion in cultural and artistic activities, level of participation and ways of participating in culture and arts organizations, reason for abstaining from culture and arts activities, preferred culture and arts activity, participation and satisfaction in culture and arts organizations, life changes after participating in cultural and artistic activities, expenditure due to cultural and artistic activities, measures for vitalizing culture and arts activities, participation and satisfaction in culture and arts education, reform measures for culture and arts education.
