Abstract
This survey was conducted by the Korea Institute of Public Administration to collect the opinions of public officials to provide restructuring measures for the current pay system of public officials. The survey was conducted among public officials from ten central administrative organizations and the questionnaire was designed with a focus on understanding the perceptions and attitudes of public officials towards public office, compensation system, and the problems of the pay system and course of reform.
The main contents of the survey include, occupational outlook, job satisfaction, pay satisfaction, attitude towards reform of public office, attitude towards deferred retirement, attitude towards pension system, perception of performance based pay system and compensation, attitude towards payment decisions, points for consideration in payment decision, weight of each payment decision criteria, perception of payment gaps between positions, and attitude towards reform direction of pay system.
