Running away from home is a significant social problem not only causing loss to youths themselves by causing difficulties in growing into a healthy member of society and actively participating in productive activities but also causing great loss to society as well. This survey was conducted to investigate the elements causing youths to run away from homes by collecting data on family, daily life, and the conditions of running away from home.
The questionnaire of this survey is composed of questions on family background, living conditions, utilization of youth care facilities, and running away. Questions on family background include, family members living together, education and occupation of parents, level of household finances, and family atmosphere. Questions on living conditions include school grades, self-efficacy, emotional anxiety, parent child relationship, peer relations, teacher student relations, experience of school violence, and experience of deviant behavior.
Questions on utilization of youth care facilities include use of shelter and level of satisfaction, use of youth counseling center and level of satisfaction, and the use of youth call center number 1388 and level of satisfaction. Questions on running away from home include frequency and reason for running away, experience of running away and number of times having run away, time of first experience of running away and duration, reason for returning home after running away, reason for running away, supporter/supporting institution while a runaway, changes before and after running away, and experience of employment while a runaway.
