This data is a summary of the in-depth interviews conducted during the first survey on the differentials in birthrate in the Korean middle town of Icheon in 1965. The first survey on the differentials in birthrate was conducted among married women residing in Icheon to examine the differentials in birthrate according to demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, their attitudes and recognition of the government’s family planning program launched in 1962 as well as their family values.
In order to supplement this survey 100 of the women were selected for in-depth interviews and this data is the interview records from 70 of them. The main contents of the questions include family and married life, experience of pregnancy and birth, experience of miscarriage or stillbirth, and attitude towards family planning methods and family planning programs.
