Abstract

The「Korean Value Survey, 2006」in connection with the「World Value Survey」 conducted every 5 years worldwide, was conducted for the purpose of producing data to illuminate the course of changes in Korean society’s values in both public and private domains in a comparative sociological perspective. The questionnaire includes the World Value Survey, modules from the「Elite Survey」 conducted by the TRI (Transformation Research Initiative) as well as contents related to Hallyu (Korean Wave) and is divided largely into private, public, and Hallyu domains. Questions on the private domain includes daily life, work and leisure, family and marriage, questions on the public domain includes development goals and trust, political and social consciousness, and democracy and government policy. The questions on Hallyu include attitude towards Hallyu, evaluation of the value and contents of Hallyu, and policy for Hallyu development.
