Abstract
Following the Olympics Korean society had to face the many social problems that had been neglected and overshadowed by economic growth. In order to solve such problems it is important to survey the opinions people hold about the many facets of Korean society. Thus this survey research aims to understand the people’s views on the limitations and outcomes of the Olympics and the future direction for the advancement of Korean society. The survey is composed of the following contents: globalization and the Korean economy, the Olympics and social change, class structure and class consciousness, globalization and the direction for cultural policy.
