As direct broadcasting by satellite from Japan has become available since 1989 concerns have been raised about the possibility of indiscreet consumption of Japanese culture raising issues of intrusion into Korea’s broadcast market. The「Survey on the Demand for Japanese Direct Television Broadcasting by Satellite」 was conducted among average citizens and recipients of satellite broadcasting to investigate their opinions on Japanese direct broadcasting by satellite. This data was collected from recipients of direct broadcasting by satellite and contains contents on reception of Japanese broadcast, evaluation of Japanese Broadcast, need for restrictions on Japanese broadcast, attitude towards Japanese society, level of exposure to Japanese culture, and influences on Korean broadcast.
