Abstract

Global blue-chip corporations around the world have invested largely in human resources from the standpoint that in a system of global competition human resources is the source of competitiveness in the establishment of an organization and its maintenance. This survey under the judgment that Korean corporations are in a dire need of a practical human resource management system, was designed to examine the human resource management plans established by companies in order to adjust to the rapidly changing business environment and to investigate its problems as well as seek measures for reform. This survey research was conducted among human resource professionals of leading corporations, academia, research institutions, and consulting firms, and the main contents of the survey includes opinion on changes in business environment, goal of human resource management, standard viewpoint on human resource management, stature and role of human resource department, potential requirements of a human resource manager, progress in principal tasks of human resource management and level of achievement.
