Abstract

This survey was conducted for the purpose of developing a cultural sentiment index appropriate for the realities of youth in Korea based on the analysis of data collected on the perceptions, sentiments, values and attitudes, and enjoyment of cultural arts by youth, related to diverse cultural phenomena. Furthermore, this index will be used to effectively establish and execute policies on culture and youth in Korea.
The youth cultural sentiment index, with the measure of the quality of life, is divided into the following parts, personal psychology and cultural sentiment, symbols and cultural sentiment, social life and cultural sentiment, and composed of the following contents, anxiety, depression, hostility and emotions, automatic thoughts, favorite color/sound/style/literary genre/fashion, state of cultural activities, a representative symbol of Korean culture, traditional etiquette and family life, school life and peer relationships, reference group, reference culture, and attitude towards work.
