Survey on Urban Population Adjustment, 1964

A dire need for effective control of population expansion became apparent with the rise of population increase as a social problem affected by the rapid modernization and urbanization of the 1960s. This survey was conducted to collect basic data to aid the establishment of government policy on population adjustment by investigating the issues surrounding childbirth and family planning among the residents of Seoul where the most rapid population expansion is taking place. The questionnaire includes questions on household composition/size/type, attitude towards family planning, opinion on birth control, experience of pregnancy, use of contraceptives, information source on birth control, reason for not using contraceptives, experience of childbirth, and desired number of children.
