Abstract

The purpose of the「Survey on Values and Attitudes towards Scientific and Technological Development」 is to take a look at the problems of Korea’s policy on science and technology by examining the attitudes, interests, and opinions of citizens on science and technology. The survey was conducted among scientists and technicians, students and teachers of science and engineering, ordinary citizens, and entrepreneurs. This survey is of scientists and technicians. The questionnaire is composed of policy on science and technology, policy on fostering basic sciences, and corporate development. The section on science and technology includes human resources in the field of science and technology, investment in science and technology, division of investment between government and the private sector, and the contributions of institutions of science and technology. The questions on policy on fostering basic sciences include policy contributions on fostering basic sciences, obstacles in the area of basic sciences. Questions on corporate development include handicaps in corporate technology development, system of procuring advanced technology, evaluation of research and development, contributions of the meeting on the expansion of technological advancement.
