Abstract
이 조사는 근대적 여성관의 형성과 변화를 추적하기 위한 시도의 일환으로 일제강점기 근대 교육 수혜자였던 신여성에 대한 사회적 담론을 분석하고자 신여성 생존자들을 대상으로 시행한 인터뷰이다. 인터뷰는 지역, 연령, 계층적 배경 등을 고려하여 1920년대부터 1940년대 사이에 중등 이상의 교육을 받은 신여성 5명을 대상으로 실시되었으며, 이 자료는 그 가운데 신여성 생존자 4명의 인터뷰 내용을 정리한 것이다.
주요 인터뷰 내용은 신여성에 대한 주관적 정의(교육수준, 외모 등), 신여성에 대한 당시의 사회적 인식과 평판, 신교육을 받게 된 배경, 신교육의 내용, 가족사(가족의 학력과 직업, 집안분위기 등), 혼인과정과 결혼생활, 한국전쟁 경험 등이다.
