Abstract
이 조사는 한국장애인개발원이 지적장애인과 자폐성장애인을 포함한 발달장애인 가족지원체계 개발에 필요한 기초자료를 수집하고자 시행한 것이다. 조사는 발달장애인의 생애주기별 복지수요를 파악할 수 있도록 학령전기, 학령기, 청소년기, 성인기로 장애인을 구분한 후 그 가족을 대상으로 실시하였다. 주요 조사내용은 장애인의 장애정도와 일상생활능력, 가족의 돌봄실태와 부양부담, 가족지원서비스에 대한 수요 등이다.

1. 2008년 12월 말 기준 지역별 등록 자폐성장애인 및 지적장애인 수에 비례하도록 500표본을 할당한 후 이를 생애주기별(학령전기, 학령기, 청소년기, 성인기) 등비율로 할당
2. 할당 표본수의 약 2배수(총 982명)를 대상으로 설문지를 배부함.
