Abstract

This survey was conducted by the Busan Women and Family Development Institute to ascertain the demand for support policies related to childbirth and attitude toward pregnancy and childbirth as well as work-family balance, for the establishment of Busan Metropolitan City's childbirth support policy. The survey was conducted separately among married women and single men and women from the Busan area, and this data was collected from single men and women.
The main contents of the survey include reason for being single, perception of the reason for later marriage, attitude toward marriage, intention of getting married, optimal age for getting married, ideal number of children, expected number of children, desired timing for having children, ideal type of employment for husband and wife, state of support for pregnancy/childbirth at workplace, attitude toward low birthrate, need for policy supporting work-family balance, childbirth support policy which should be given priority at time of implementation etc.
