Abstract

"Seoul Survey" is a City Policy Index development project conducted annually since 2003 for the purpose of assessing the changes to the city and the lives of the residents. Seoul Survey Index consists of 12 categories : population, economy, urban development and housing, culture, tourism, welfare, women and family, environment, transportation, information and knowledge, safety and disaster, and value and ethics. The Index is formulated utilizing administrative statistics, survey data of households and members of the households, survey data of foreigners, and survey data of businesses.
This data is collected from survey of members of households and includes values and social ethics and quality of life information used in formulating 2010 Seoul Survey Index. The survey questionnaire consisted of questions about level of happiness, relationship between family members, class consciousness, attitude toward work and consumption, life long education, retirement plan, healthcare, leisure and cultural activity, festival participation, use of Hangang Park, media use, cyber damage, volunteer and donation, group participation, perception about housing, greenland environment, commute, transportation, bicycle use, pedestrian environment, urban safety, food safety, social confidence, attitude toward social minorities, attitude toward foreigners and immigrants, and civic identity.
