Public Opinion Poll on Korean History Education, 2011

KBS Broadcast Research Institute conducted this survey to assess the public's awareness and attitude toward Korean history education ahead of the implementation of the reformed high school curriculum which has changed the subject of Korean history into an elective. The major survey topics included importance of historical knowledge, reactions to Korean history being an elective subject, evaluation of youth’s history knowledge level, need for strengthening Korean history education, need for strengthening students’ right to select courses, need for historical awareness advocacy plan, and stance on strengthening or reducing history education.
