Survey on Perceptions of Marriage, 2010

KBS Broadcast Research Institute conducted this survey to understand the public’s views on marriage and satisfaction level of marriage. The survey was conducted among KBS Broadcast Research Institute’s online panel. The survey was divided into three subjects; issues common to both single and married persons, issues related to married persons, and issues related to single persons.
The questions common to both married and single persons included need for marriage, reasons for or against marriage, optimal age for marriage, reaction to marriage with older woman or younger man, and appropriateness of paternity leave. The questions for married persons included willingness to remarry current spouse, circumstances when regretted marriage, secrets about spouse. The questions for single persons included willingness to marry, ideal number of children, and preference for spouse’s occupation.
