Abstract
This survey was conducted to evaluate the outcomes and process of promoting cultural projects by local governments in their efforts to transform into cultural cities through urban revitalization. This survey was conducted among the public officials in charge of the cultural city project in the city of Bucheon which has been focusing on supporting the pursuit of a cultural city project since the first popular election.
The questionnaire was designed to evaluate the suitability of the mid to long term plans, higher level government and corporate support level, degree of establishment of local government/residents/university governance, sufficiency of cultural infrastructure, appropriateness of pursued organization, creation of jobs, and the level of financial contribution of the 6 major cultural projects the city of Buchoen has been pursuing (Bucheon Philharmonic, Bucheon international student animation festival, Pucheon International Fantastic Film Festive (Pifan), Poksagol art festival, Bucheon World Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo, Bucheon International Comics Festival).
