Abstract

The Busan Women and Family Development Institute conducted a policy development research based on current state of affairs and expert opinion surveys in order to provide employment assistance policy tasks that would provide economic independence to low income female head of households. This survey was conducted among experts of various fields in the Busan area and the data includes contents on the effects of policies supporting economic independence and demand for such policies, etc.
The major survey topics included impediments obstructing the economic independence of women in poverty, seriousness of the increase of women in poverty, specialized policy for women in poverty, degree of helpfulness per employment support measure for gaining economic independence, effectiveness of current employment support policies, policy measures to be expanded and reduced, helpfulness of job training in gaining economic independence, measures for improving the effects of job training, support needed in getting a job or starting a business, social responsibility regarding care work, and future policy tasks for supporting independence, etc.
