Abstract

The Busan Women and Family Development Institute conducted a policy development research based on current state of affairs and expert opinion surveys in order to provide employment assistance policy tasks that would provide economic independence to low income female head of households. This survey was conducted among low income female head of households participating in an employment assistance program in the Busan area and includes contents on the status of their economic activities.
The major survey topics included income and expenses of household, amount and cause of household debt, recent employment experience, employment assistance program currently participating in, employment type, monthly wage, size of business, weekly working hours, source of job information, job satisfaction, second job, difficulties encountered while searching for employment, usage and level of assistance per employment assistance program, income necessary for financial independence, desired area of employment or starting business, necessary assistance for employment or starting business, job training experience, desired job training area, and necessary employment assistance policies, etc.
