Abstract

The Korean Institute of Criminology conducted this survey to collect data on physical and emotional abuse and neglect by parents and juvenile delinquency for the purpose of investigating the relationship between juveniles’ experience of abuse and delinquency. The survey was conducted among elementary school, middle school, and high school students respectively and this data was collected from middle school students.
The main contents of the survey include experience of physical and emotional abuse, experience of neglect, experience of drinking and smoking, experience of violence and theft, experience of property damage and disruption of order, affection towards parents, parental supervision, learning participation, self-control, relationship with teacher, perception of breaking the law, perception of violence, feeling of alienation, interfamily relationship, deviation and self-control by parents, sociality and law abiding nature of parents, and socio-economic status of parents.
