Survey on the Evaluation of the Mother and Child Health Care Program in Rural Areas, 1986 : Women with Experience of Childbirth

Abstract

This survey was conducted by the Korea Institute for Population and Health (currently the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA)) to examine the management of the Mother and Child Health Care Program in rural areas implemented to provide systematic health care for pregnant women and infants. The survey was conducted simultaneously among health workers and women with childbirth experience in rural areas to assess the execution and benefits of the mother and child health care program.
This data was collected from women with childbirth experience and include contents on general information about the respondent such as number of family members, type of household, period of residence, marital status, occupation of spouse, level of education, scale of farming, and benefits of medical care. The survey also contains contents on utilization of medical facilities, attitude towards health workers, experience of pregnancy, experience of using birth control, state of prenatal care, conditions of delivery and postpartum care, state of caring for the health of infants, breastfeeding of infants, visitation of households by health workers, and state of employment following childbirth.
