This survey was undertaken by Gallup Korea for the purpose of expanding the interest of the public in philosophy by utilizing the results of a public opinion poll and collected data on the attitude and awareness of the general public on philosophy. The questionnaire of this survey is composed of questions on attitude towards philosophy, outlook on life, family values, ethics, religious views, views on nation, and social consciousness. Specific survey questions include:
1. Attitude towards philosophy
Images associated with philosophy, opinions on philosophy, number of philosophy related books read, interested areas in philosophy, philosopher brought to mind, relationship between philosophy and ethics, effects of philosophical training, contribution of philosophy on national development, willingness to support children in their decision to major in philosophy.
2. Outlook on life
The meaning of life, sense of futility, thoughts on death, happiness, important values in life, ideal careers of children, books deeply impressed by, person one looks up to/role model.
3. Family Values
Family motto, important virtues of home education, opinion on traditional family values, attitude towards premarital cohabitation, attitude towards divorce.
4. Ethics
Views on human nature, whether one agrees with the belief that you reap what you sow (what goes around comes around).
5. View on Fate
Opinion on fate, experience of fortunetelling/divination, consistency between reality and the results of divination/fortunetelling, credibility of fortunetelling/divination, attitude towards predictions in marital compatibility.
6. Religious Views
Religious belief, belief in absolute truth/new/afterlife, opinion on religion and truth.
7. View on Nation
National pride, willingness to enlist in case of war.
8. Social Consciousness
Opinion on improving the social system, level of social morality, reason for undervalued social morality, opinion on freedom and equality, fairness of differential pay system, attitude toward solicitations, opinion on scientific development, interest in politics, subjective ideological propensity.
