Abstract

This survey was conducted by the Korea Institute for Population and Health (the current Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs) to examine the working conditions and activities of the health workers responsible for family planning at urban public health centers to provide policy data needed in redesigning the roles and responsibilities of personnel and to provide measure for their efficient utilization.
The main contents of the survey include state of education and training, usefulness of education and training in conducting job, size of area under jurisdiction, number of personnel and medical facilities within area of jurisdiction, reason for increasing number of personnel, state of managing targets of family planning, state of household visits and counseling, effects of household visits, effective channel of promoting family planning, duration of each activity, outcomes of activities, methods of follow-up management, number of attending group gatherings, and attitude towards family planning program.
