Abstract
Gallup Korea is conducting a monthly omnibus survey based on the same research design. An omnibus survey incorporates multiple topics commissioned by various institutions and corporations into one survey. Thus, an omnibus survey can collect data more efficiently in terms of cost and time required compared to ad-hoc survey dealing with single topics. The 「Gallup Omnibus Survey」 is conducted among around 1,500 samples in a face to face interview for each survey and covers various political, economic, social and cultural topics including political attitudes, economic index, national consciousness, daily life and leisure time.
This data collected in March 2011 is comprised of contents on weather forecast, flowers, bath culture, and life in the military. The main contents of the survey include level of interest in weather forecast, channel of obtaining weather information, accuracy of weather forecast, favorite flowers, experience of purchasing and or growing flowers in the last year, frequency of showering, frequency of bathing, most recent place of bath, frequency of utilizing Korean dry sauna(jjimjilbang), facility and service of jjimjilbang visited, number of hours spent in jjimjilbang, satisfaction with jjimjilbang, intention of visiting a jjimjilbang, military status, period of military service, division of military served, contribution of military life experience in everyday life, preferred division of military in case of children’s enlistment, and fairness of physical examination for conscription.
