This survey was conducted by the Korea Institute of Criminology to examine the use of digital contents through the internet and people’s perception of its illegal uses, to provide improvement measures for the copyright protection of the producers of digital contents.
The main contents of the survey include purpose and pattern of using digital contents, awareness of possible infringement of rights by main illegal activities, channel of free use, awareness of the illegality of using P2P/Web hard/Streaming service, experience of use after recognition of illegality, whether one has made efforts to purchase authentic("honest") contents, convenience of purchasing authentic contents, percentage of using authentic contents, reason for not purchasing authentic contents, pros and cons of vitalizing the use of authentic contents and reason behind opinion, and conditions for the vitalization of authentic contents.
