Abstract

This survey was conducted by the KBS Broadcast Research Institute to examine the public's opinion on the level and cause of social conflicts and the measures to resolve them, to be utilized in the production of a special debate program on the topic of conflict and integration in Korean society. The survey was conducted twice consecutively and this data was collected from the second survey.
The main contents of the survey include the severity of the gap between the rich and the poor, possibility of a deepening gap between the rich and the poor, where the responsibility lies for the deepening gap between the rich and the poor, cause of the deepening gap between the rich and the poor, the government's degree of efforts to resolve the gap between the rich and the poor, measures for resolving the gap between the rich and the poor, where the responsibility lies for the conflict between labor and management, measures for resolving the problem of temporary workers, the government's involvement in labor management relations. evaluation of the government's welfare policy, seriousness of the conflict between the ruling and opposition parties, cause of the conflict between the ruling and opposition parties, where the responsibility lies for political conflict, structural problems within political parties, and the main roles of the members of the National Assembly.
