Abstract

The National Youth Policy Institute conducted the「Korean Youth Development Index Survey」from 2006 to 2008 for the establishment of a general index for the development and establishment of policies on youth, in 2009 it was renamed the「Korean Youth Index Survey」. This survey was conducted as a part of the 4th year「Korean Youth Index Survey」to produce indexes on the activities and culture of youth. The survey targets were divided into elementary school students and middle and high school students, and this data was collected from middle school and high school students.
The survey contents are divided into youth activities, youth culture, and youth competency. Contents on youth activities include perception of youth activities, preferred youth activities, and participation in youth activities. Contents on youth culture include cultural awareness, cultural taste, state of cultural education, viewing of cultural arts, participation in cultural activities, and the use of media. Contents on competency of youth include emotional, cognitive, social, civic, and professional competency.
