The development of information technology has led to increasing changes in the broadcasting environment. The internet has become a part of broadcast media and the IPTV has emerged as a convergence of broadcasting and communication. As choices of broadcast media available to users increase their preferences for broadcast contents are also becoming more diverse. This survey was conducted to examine the utilization of broadcast media and contents which have become diversified by the emergence of new forms of media.
This data was collected by face to face interview using structured questionnaire along with the composition of self-administered media use diary. By the interview using questionnaire data on the use of various types of media were collected, and by the media use diary self-administered for seven days every thirty minutes data on the records of hourly use of media were collected.
The questionnaire includes contents on the use of TV broadcast media, use of paid broadcast, use of interactive services, use of internet, and use of DMB, and the media use diary includes contents on programs viewed at each hour, use of media at each hour, channel viewed at each hour, and other activities simultaneously carried out while viewing broadcast.
