Abstract

Gallup Korea is conducting a monthly omnibus survey based on the same research design. An omnibus survey incorporates multiple topics commissioned by various institutions and corporations into one survey. Thus, an omnibus survey can collect data more efficiently in terms of cost and time required compared to ad-hoc survey dealing with single topics. The「Gallup Omnibus Survey」is conducted among around 1,500 samples in a face to face interview for each survey and covers various political, economic, social and cultural topics including political attitudes, economic index, national consciousness, daily life and leisure time.
This data collected in June of 2009 is composed of contents on married life and financial conditions following the US led global financial crisis. Contents on married life include awareness of elements leading to amicable marital relationship, assessment of marital relationship, state of division of roles between marital couples, attitude towards marital strife, state of arguments between married couples, and experience of domestic violence, and contents on financial situation include outlook on household income, opinion on the appropriate time for purchasing a home, outlook on financial conditions, trust in the government’s measures in dealing with the financial crisis, bank and stock market safety assessment, and experience of anxiety due to financial crisis.
