Abstract
This survey was conducted by the Seoul Welfare Foundation to collect data for the establishment of a support system for making provisions for old age by the city of Seoul in preparation for an aged society. The survey was conducted among the citizens of Seoul between the ages of 35 and 59 and the survey included contents on preparing for old age and the need for welfare.
The main contents of the survey include subjective state of health, whether or not one exercises, social participation, subjective class identification, household income and expenditure, household asset and debt, type of cohabitation in old age, intention of getting a job in old age, whether or not one is preparing for old age, appropriate timing for preparing for old age, necessity of preparation for old age and degree of actions taken, appropriate amount of living expenses for old age, plans for meeting one's living expenses in old age, investment amount in preparation for old age, severance pay and public pension amount received, sufficiency of old age pension and assets, needs of old age living, need for welfare services for the elderly, need for an income security system, and the need for support programs for preparing for old age, etc.
