SBS New Year Public Opinion Poll, 2011

At the end of each year SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) is conducting the SBS New Year Public Opinion Poll to identify the public's opinion on the important political issues as well as state affairs to be addressed in the new year. This data was collected to forecast the political conditions in Korea in 2012 and includes contents on the general as well as presidential elections and post-Kim Jong-Il North-South relations.
Specific contents of the questionnaire include intention of supporting the incumbent member of the national assembly in the general election, approval ratings for hypothetical competition between presidential candidates (Park Geun-Hye/ Ahn Cheol-Soo , Park Geun-Hye/ Son Hak-Gyu, Park Geun-Hye/ Moon Jae-In), current issues of interest for the presidential elections, outlook of changes in the Grand National Party, image evaluation of the Democratic United Party, assessment of the state of security post Kim Jong-Il, the government's keynote North Korean policy, outlook of the system under Kim Jong-Eun, outlook on the timing of reunification, and outlook of North Korea's policy towards South Korea, etc. In addition, the questionnaire includes questions on political indicators such as approval rating of the president's state administration, and party approval ratings, etc.
