Abstract
The survey was designed and conducted by JoongAng Ilbo (daily newspaper) to examine the public’s attitude towards the major institutions in Korean society such as government organizations, political parties, social organizations, and large corporations.
This data is composed of three different independent sets of data because the survey data was collected through three different types of questionnaires designed for varying target institutions for evaluation.
Questionnaire Type 1 includes the Cheongwadae (office of the Korean president), National Intelligence Service, the Supreme Court, the Grand National Party, Democratic Party, People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, Citizens´ Coalition for Economic Justice (CCEJ), Federation of Korean Trade Unions, Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Samsung Group, and the LG Group.
Questionnaire Type 2 includes, National Tax Service, Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, the police, the Constitutional Court, the Liberty Forward Party, Democratic Labor Party, Lawyers for Democratic Society, the New Right, the Federation of the Korean Industries, the Korean Teachers & Educational Workers' Union (KTU), and the Korean Federation of Teachers’ Association.
Questionnaire Type 3 includes the Hyundai Automotive Group, SK Group, and the Board of Audit and Inspection. Each questionnaire consists of questions on social influence and reliability evaluation of each institution.
