Abstract

Gallup Korea is conducting a monthly omnibus survey based on the same research design. An omnibus survey incorporates multiple topics commissioned by various institutions and corporations into one survey. Thus, an omnibus survey can collect data more efficiently in terms of cost and time required compared to ad-hoc survey dealing with single topics. The Gallup Korea omnibus survey collects around 1500 samples for each survey conducted in a face to face interview method and covers various social and economic topics including marketing index, political index, public attitudes, economic situation awareness, and state of media utilization.
This data collected in November of 2008 is composed of contents on financial outlook for 2009 and attitude towards the economy. Contents on financial outlook for 2009 are household and national economies, the unemployed, employment security, job opportunity, labor disputes, international disputes, and feasibility of resolving international issues. Contents on attitudes towards the economy are attitude towards household financial situation, degree of cutting expenditures, and subjective class consciousness.
