This survey was conducted to examine the characteristics of the social capital of Korean society and the influence it has on local self government. This data can be utilized in analyzing the elements influencing the formation of social capital and the level of social capital, the difference between city and rural social capital, and the relationship between social capital and participation in local self government. The questionnaire includes contents on interest in local self government, voting during local elections, relationship between local self government and residents, residents’ participation in self-governing administration, evaluation of local administrative services, community participation, social trust and trust in institutions, attitude towards social norms, and degree of happiness.
