This data was compiled by interviewing North Korean refugees from May 1st to 18th of 1999 on the changes in the North Korean population and the elements that affect this change. The contents of the interview includes seasonal illnesses and remedies, childbirth related topics such as birth control and number of children, how ceremonial occasions such as the first birthday, 60th birthday, and funerals are carried out, and the seasonal foods they eat. Also on the topic of marriage it asks detailed questions about preferred occupation of spouse and the right age for marriage. The interview was conducted in the form of structured interviews of 1 to 2 hours.
