Abstract

The unique cultural characteristics of Korean society and an overall mistrust in the judicial system are leading to a problem of increasing incidents of perjury. Though recent discussions have begun on preventive methods for perjury efforts to investigate its causes and status are nearly nonexistent. The purpose of this test survey is to empirically analyze the causes of perjury and to present tangible countermeasures. The questionnaire is designed to present a scenario and measure the reaction of the subjects to understand the socio-demographic and psychological characteristics that affect the attitude towards and intention of perjury as well as measure attitude towards law related institutions.
