Since Korean society’s support of prisoners focuses mainly on the state of treatment within the imprisonment facility, and not on the reduction of recidivism through a successful social reentry, the application of prisoner support policies have been influenced by the needs and convenience of the involved organizations. The purpose of this survey is to collect preliminary data for the establishment of policies to help prisoners’ social readjustment process by examining the problems experienced by prisoners in the process of social reentry. The questionnaire is composed of contents including family relationships, treatment programs within prisons, prison labor, prison life, job training, preparation for release and social adjustment following release.
