The「Survey on Marriage, Childbirth, Childrearing, and Value System of Women in the Gyeonggi-do Area」was conducted by the Gyeonggido Family and Women’s Development Institute to examine the needs and attitudes of women in the Geyonggi-do area towards marriage, childbirth, and childrearing to explore aid policies suitable to regional characteristics. This survey was designed under the understanding that there is a need to understand the problem of low birth rate from the prospective of women with the increasing social crisis caused by the decrease in birthrate. The survey was conducted among both married and unmarried women between the ages of 25 to 39 and this survey was conducted among unmarried women. The questionnaire includes contents on marriage, gender roles, children, male preference, adoption, value system of children, childrearing, women’s work and family, family planning, low birthrate, and evaluation of government’s policy on encouraging higher birthrate.
