Abstract

Recently, the cause of sudden deaths and job related illnesses of workers are being contributed to stress, and the need for finding accurate measures for gauging and managing stress is pressing. However, the active development of tools for gauging stress as well as evaluation methods and managing system is still to be realized. This survey was designed to verify the suitability and validity of the Korean job stress index developed on the US job stress index model presented by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and to investigate its occupational distribution.
The questionnaire includes contents on job characteristics, level of job satisfaction, risk of occupational hazard, physical environment, job conflict, occupational future, job autonomy, employment opportunity, social support, job requirements, job obligations and responsibility, psychological demands, daily activities, self evaluation, sate of health, illness, occupational problems, and level of activity.
